TalkSPORT pundit Darren Bent has claimed that Arsenal star Jorginho is better than Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.
The Premier League this season has been dominated by tremendous midfield performances, hasn’t it? So many players who play in the middle of the park have excelled. Manchester United‘s Kobbie Mainoo is definitely one of them.
Darren Bent says Arsenal’s Jorginho is better than Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo
Arsenal signed Jorginho from Chelsea last year in a £12 million deal (Sky Sports).
The Italy international is one of the most experienced players in the Premier League. He has won almost everything in his career, and he has been fantastic for Arsenal as well.
Mikel Arteta loves Jorginho and has been using him regularly this season. He has played in the big games against Liverpool and Manchester City at home as well – Arsenal won both of those games.
Darren Bent and Andy Goldstein were discussing Jorginho on talkSPORT yesterday, and the latter didn’t seem to be a fan of the Arsenal midfielder at all.
When Bent claimed he was better than Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo, Goldstein was shocked. Here’s how their conversation went:
Goldstein: “Who’d you rather have?”
Bent: “Jorginho!”
Goldstein: “Absolute lie! Who’s better?”
Bent: “Jorginho!”
Goldstein: “What are you talking about?”
Bent: “Oh my goodness, the guy has won…”
Goldstein: “You can’t quote what he has won in the past, let’s go forward now.”
Bent: “Okay, I’d rather Jorginho.”
Goldstein: “You wouldn’t, mate. He’s so slow!”
Kobbie Mainoo has a long career ahead of him
Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo is a tremendous talent.
The youngster, still only 18 years old, has already played 22 times under Erik ten Hag. He has often looked like Manchester United’s best midfielder too.
Mainoo has a massive future ahead of him. He has huge potential, and if he keeps his head down and continues to work hard, he could develop into one of the best midfielders in the country.
Manchester United take on Liverpool in the FA Cup this weekend. Mainoo played 82 minutes at Anfield back in December, and it is likely he will start again on Sunday. If he has a good game, the Red Devils will have a real chance of going through.
